During the fiscal year July 2010 to March 2011, Pakistan's imports of mobile handsets increased to Rs 33.5 billion.This was stated by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS).The sale of mobile increased to more than nine million in the said period ,if average monthly sales are evaluated at one million in the nine months ,in accordance with data shared by market experts.
This shows a high demanding trend in the local market ,due to the change in technology and capabilty of mobiles. According to market experts ,more than 60 per cent of the mobile market ranges from Rs 4,000 to Rs 9,000 .
As predicted by importers and dealers , import and sales may be affected.The reason behind that the telecom authority has come up with strict regulations.This could slow down the import of Chinese-made mobiles in the local markets.
